Kalaghoda 2011

Sunday, I went to the most awaited art festival of Mumbai - the Kalaghoda Art Festival. Its a 9 day long festival where artists, artisans, craftsmen, musicians, dancers, actors, authors, photographers, sculptors, etc come under one roof to parade their skills. It is a platform for new talent. A myriad of workshops are held in and around the festival, by the professionals of the industry, to help budding talent. The avalanche of creativity during this festival is truly phenomenal. Especially the gigantic art installations by various artists are always a treat to the naked eye. Here is a glimpse of the festival. Be there to believe it!

Kalaghoda : Literally The Black Horse

Kalaghoda festival also summons various forms of fashion. A major part of it being Hippie !

Personally, I liked the festival better last year - the stalls as well as the installations. But for those who haven't been there yet, its definitely worth your while!

Enjoy the fest!

S/S 11 Trend: Part 2

SUMMER LEATHER
The S/S 2011 collection witnessed, in the history of leather, by far THE MOST exciting treatment of leather. Leather has received a complete make over. It's cut - it's fringed - it's ruffled!
Feminine, flirty, short 'n' sexy leather dresses, skirts, tops, corsets, pants, even leather Kurtas(!!) are now at your disposal. The best part? It comes with a cascade of the most desirable colours, perfectly suited for  a bright and happy summer. Enjoy.

As much as I want to, unfortunately, I cannot reveal rest of the trends unless the issue is out! So wait for Vogue's S/S 2011 Trend Report - which will be out in March.

Till next time.
You know you love me ;)

Emmanuelle Alt

Its official ! It has been announced that Emmanuelle Alt will succeed Carine Roitfeld as the Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Paris. For the past ten years, Alt has worked as the Fashion Director of Vogue Paris. She previously worked at French Elleand freelanced for several French women's magazines before landing the role of fashion editor at the magazine 20 ans in 1993.

In 1998, she joined the magazine Mixte before departing for Vogue Paris in 2000. Since then she has been responsible for churning out some of the most interesting fashion shoots.
"Alt's editorials have the common element of women presented in strong poses," said 212DressingRoom's Janet Spicer
She has also been a favourite among the street bloggers and fashion weeks for her strikingly edgy style. Her androgynous sense of dressing oozes power and confidence.

But again, Carine Roitfeld's heels are too high to fill in... Will Alt succeed? Only time will tell...
Till next,
Heta

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!

Howdy?
So, I had a very peaceful New Year's Eve, and actually remember every second of it, unlike the other years. This year I ain't making any resolutions, because I never end up sticking to them. But hopefully this year, I should lose weight, get more involved with dance and hopefully figure out what I am meant to do.... sigh!
Hope everyone had a good weekend and wish you all a wonderful new year.

Luv,

Heta
